What Clients Say
In their own words
Faridah bt. Hassan
Petaling Jaya, Selangor
My father passed in April, and I genuinely did not know where to start. My siblings and I were grieving and none of us had any experience with estate matters. Siti Rahayu walked us through everything at our first meeting — not as a lecture, but as an actual conversation. She asked what we understood, and built from there. The paperwork afterwards was handled without us needing to chase anyone. I was relieved, honestly.

I needed representation for a contested estate matter — three properties and some disagreement among the beneficiaries. The team handled it with more tact than I expected. What stood out was that Ahmad Khairul never made me feel rushed, even though the proceedings took longer than anticipated. There was one point where I felt communication could have been a little more proactive, but I always got a clear answer when I asked.

I came in for the first service — just to understand what was involved with my late mother's estate. I was not sure I even needed a lawyer. Nurul Liyana listened carefully, asked a few gentle questions, and explained the whole situation in a way that made sense. She was honest that a few things could be managed without us — and suggested when it would be worth coming back. That sort of candour is rare and I appreciated it very much.

Dealing with my husband's estate while still managing everyday life was overwhelming. Pesaka Restu took over the administrative work entirely. I signed what was needed, they explained why, and I was kept informed without having to ask. The fees were exactly as stated from the beginning. Six months of support that genuinely helped.

My family used Pesaka Restu for the administration of my father's estate — there was no will, which added some complexity. The process took about eight months in total. The team was patient with our many questions and never made us feel we were being a burden. I would have liked slightly faster movement at a few stages, but the care they took was evident throughout.

The name really does describe them — there is a quality of blessing in how they work. My mother had very specific wishes, and there were questions around the Islamic inheritance aspects of the estate. Siti Rahayu was knowledgeable and thoughtful throughout. Everything was done with decency. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone who finds themselves in this situation.

How We Helped
A few matters, described plainly
Names and identifying details have been changed. These accounts are shared with the knowledge and consent of those involved.
Case Study — Administration
A family managing their late father's estate without a will
Challenge
Four siblings, no valid will, and an estate comprising a family home, two savings accounts, and a commercial vehicle. Disagreement among the siblings about how to proceed, and none with any experience of probate or estate law.
Our Approach
We began with a joint meeting with all four siblings to explain the process under the Distribution Act 1958 and answer questions. We then managed the gathering of all required documents, prepared and filed the application for Letters of Administration, and liaised with the relevant offices throughout.
Outcome
Letters of Administration granted after approximately seven months. Estate administered and assets distributed among the beneficiaries according to the statutory formula. The siblings left with a written summary and a clear understanding of the outcome.
"We came in not knowing anything. We left knowing exactly what had happened and why. That matters more than I expected."
Case Study — Representation
Contested inheritance involving both civil and Islamic law considerations
Challenge
An estate involving assets held jointly with a non-Muslim spouse and separate assets subject to Faraid. Dispute between the surviving spouse and the deceased's adult children from a previous marriage over the scope of the estate.
Our Approach
We represented the surviving spouse, preparing the necessary documentation, engaging respectfully with the opposing parties' representatives, and attending at the relevant proceedings. We kept our client informed at each stage and managed all formal correspondence.
Outcome
The matter was resolved through formal proceedings over approximately nine months. Our client's position was established clearly, and the division of assets was completed in accordance with the relevant legal frameworks. A written outcome summary was provided on closure.
"It was a difficult situation. They handled it without adding to the difficulty — that is the best way I can put it."
